Choosing the wrong supplier can mean losing time, money, and reputation all at once—especially if an order fails mid-project. Therefore, verification before closing a transaction is not a formality, but a protection. Here is a 10-point checklist you can use before your next deal. Save this page as a reminder.
Supplier verification checklist
Legality. Ensure the supplier has a valid business license (NIB), NPWP (Taxpayer Identification Number), and a clear domicile. This is the most basic foundation of a legitimate partner.
Production capacity. Ensure their capacity can meet your volume and deadlines—including during peak demand.
Track record & client references. Ask for a list of previous clients or projects and, if possible, directly confirm their experiences.
Quality certification.Check relevant certificates (ISO, SNI, and others) as proof of consistent quality standards.
Commitment to price stability. Understand how they set prices and whether there is a guarantee of stability for the contract period.
Reasonable location & logistics options. Consider distance, shipping costs, and delivery flexibility in relation to your needs.
After-sales service. Ensure there is a warranty, availability of spare parts, and support after goods are received.
Fair & clear payment terms. Payment terms must be clearly written and reasonable for both parties—avoid terms that strain your cash flow.
Responsive & transparent communication. Suppliers who respond quickly and are open about issues are usually more reliable in the long run.
Verified contact details & business identity. Ensure the company's number, address, and identity are truly valid—not just a convincing-looking profile.
Verify once, stay secure throughout the collaboration
These ten points might seem lengthy, but skipping them is far more costly than taking the time to check them. At ID Industri, many suppliers have already gone through a verification process, so you can start from a safer point.
